These are fish you will see if you go snorkelling or scuba diving around the shores of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. To help you identify and compare species, the images on each page are approximately to scale. Each illustration is accompanied by a short, descriptive text. At the front of the guide is a key to symbols that summarise information about the abundance, water depth and habitat of each species.

ENRIC BALLESTEROS SAGARRA és investigador científic i responsable del grup d'investigació Benthic Ecosystem Functioning del Centre d'Estudis Avançats de Blanes (CEAB-CSIC). El 2016 va ser guardonat amb el Premi de Medi Ambient del Institut d'Estudis Catalans. Està especialitzat en ecologia d'ambients marins, però també en ecosistemes d'aigua dolça i llacs. Les diverses línies d'investigació l'han portat a treballar en mars i oceans de tot el món i a fer milers d'immersions, inclòs el Mediterrani, per conèixer els ecosistemes i els efectes antròpics que pateixen. Actualment és membre de l'equip de Pristine Seas, de la National Geographic Society, projecte que intenta protegir les últimes àrees marines verges del planeta. Ha publicat guies de natura, llibres i capítols de divulgació. També és fotògraf aficionat i ha publicat en revistes com _Geo_ i _National Geographic_, i un llibre propi de fotografia submarina de la costa de Tossa de Mar, Lloret de Mar i Blanes. TONI LLOBET FRANÇOIS (Barcelona, 1975). Artista i naturalista, autor de materials de divulgació i educació ambiental en múltiples formats. Creador de les guies de fauna i flora dels espais naturals de Catalunya, i il·lustrador del Handbook of the Mammals of the World.
